I've tried the first approach, but it would only let me use a dynamic public address and I had to trick the portal in order to save things, so I have a feeling that I'm going in the wrong direction.įor adding application gateway to application hosted in the Azure VM. Should I actually be using the existing VN, Resource Group and VM (for the backend pool), and create an extra subnet and public IP address for the Application Gateway? Or do I need to create the new resources for the application gateway and then connect Guide instructs you to create a new Virtual Network, new Resource Group and 2 new backend servers I've been trying to follow the official documentation, but everything seems generic and out-of-context, and I'm not quite sure to link the application gateway to what already exists. I'm trying to add an Application Gateway to an existing application within a VM.
